Waiting for the XO

I suspect many of us are first day people. And so, how many have received notification of their laptop being on the way?


Certainly, the top question on many of our minds is will our new toys make it to Seattle in time for Xmas. OLPC News has numerous posts of a few arriving here and there. All, with no predictable logic to as when they shipped and when they'll actually be arriving.

From the early arrivals being in the mid-west it seems those of us here on the left coasts are going to be later on the arrival list. Last night I decided to give FedEx a call to see if there were any packages in the system for me. Darn if there wasn't. However, I called again this evening and sure enough my XO was shipped out Friday night and is expected to arrive this Thursday.

So, if you really want to know and you were a first day person, give FedEx a call.

    I'm waiting too. As another poster said, waiting for XO is only slightly less exasperating than waiting for Godot.

    It seems like both of my XO's were shipped out Friday. One by SJ in Boston that is snowed in, and will arrive who knows when.

    My G1G1 machine was shipped friday to arrive thursday too. :)

    Yup, waiting as well. I'm not a first day donor, but I'm no less anxious about getting my own little OLPC. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!

    I just confirmed our XO's arrival in Seattle on Fri, Dec 21st. We're first dayer, btw.

    I was first day but the address used to ship was a very old po box from paypal's database, not what I entered at the time of order. The address was rejected 2 days ago so i guess I go to the end of the line :(

    Mine showed up yesterday down here in Vancouver (WA)! I was a first day donor also, and I think Fedex told me it would be arriving Thursday.

    I just got that same notice. No explanation of what the problem(s) are!! What a bummer.

    Just a FYI that I have heard from two people who got the "We are sorry ... not until 2008" e-mail who then got their XO on Dec 24th....
