What kind of club?
As we all anxiously await our new machines, I wonder what kind of group this should be?
User group to help us better understand the machine and its abilities?
Evangelist group to help others understand the mission of OLPC and promote that?
Developer group to help create new applications for the XO in support of its mission?
Of course, SeaXO could be any and all of these or something else also.
What are your thoughts?

Chris:
"All of these and more" sounds like a reasonable first plan to me..
One thought would simply be to wait until we see who shows up and what their particular skills and interests are, and go from there. I'm sure those things will evolve with time and a changing cadre of folks, but all that you mentioned sounds like a reasonable charter for an XO user group.
All moot, of course, until the #@$@#!:) XO lands on my doorstep!

Whatever you guys end up doing, I can help facilitate you. I'm doing the printed manuals with Anne Gentle, and I'm working on grassroots organization and volunteer collaboration.
If you would like to help, I can find you a home.
I would also love to get some feedback from you guys on some street-team materials that I am drafting up.
So let me know when/if you're meeting up. I would love to come join you.

Didn't go through so I'm trying this again...
I was most interested in the learning side of things but I think all of the above would be great if it's done right.
I was hoping it would be open and simple enough to get my mom involved. I've ordered one for her to do her writing on. So while I'm going to look into development personally, too much focus on that sort of stuff can be confusing and off putting to non-techies.
